Gündoğan town (historical name Farilya) is located 25 km from the town center, on the northern coast of the Bodrum peninsula, between the towns of Yalikavak and Göltürkbükü.
While rock tombs, churches and windmills stand out as historical tourism elements in the town, where traces of settlements have been found since the 4th century BC, surf tourism is also intensely continued in the summer months.
The Apostol church and its surroundings on the Little Rabbit (also known as St. Apostol) island, which can be reached by a 15-minute journey by sea, are being protected by the partnership of Italy-Turkey.
On December 11, 1991, it became a municipality with the status of municipality.[1] It became a neighborhood with the law numbered 6360, which was accepted by the Turkish Grand National Assembly on 12 November 2012.
